Infrastructure for the projects the climate moment demands.
GreenKwacha is laying the groundwork in Malawi for high-integrity, community-centred work. We are in advocacy and registration — building systems, relationships, and standards literacy before naming specific sites or targets.
What we will stand behind
Programme types this platform is being built to serve
Not a portfolio — a direction of travel. When projects launch, they will share these family traits, adapted to local context and community decisions.
Community-led carbon
Programmes where communities shape design, benefits, and long-term stewardship — not as beneficiaries, but as owners.
Agroforestry & landscapes
Integrating trees and perennial systems with livelihoods to build resilience and durable carbon outcomes.
Forest restoration
Supporting recovery of degraded areas through approaches that respect local rights and ecological context.
Clean energy access
Where relevant, connecting climate outcomes to practical energy solutions that reduce pressure on forests and health.
Selection principles
How we will choose where to invest effort
Today we are focused on registration, policy engagement, and honest storytelling. Project selection will follow these guardrails — never the reverse.
Community ownership
Governance and value share are non-negotiable. Projects exist to serve communities, not the other way around.
Transparency
Clear reporting on intent, progress, and trade-offs — including when work is still formative.
Nonprofit motive
We are building public-good infrastructure for fair climate finance, not extracting returns from communities.
Early stage, on purpose
We will publish concrete project pages when communities and partners are ready — not to meet a marketing calendar. Until then, follow our advocacy and insights, reach out, or help fund the foundation through a gift routed through our charitable partners.
